By booking our services, you (“Customer”) agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully. These terms apply to all bookings for our dog grooming and boarding services.
1. GENERAL TERMS
Booking Process:
To secure your booking, we require a valid card number. This card will be used to guarantee your appointment. We reserve the right to charge the card for any applicable fees in the event of a no-show or late cancellation (see below).
Late Cancellations and No-Shows:
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment will incur a 50% charge of the total booking fee.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours or no-shows will incur a 100% charge of the total booking fee.
Payment Terms:
- Payment for services is due at time of appointment, or as specified by the service type.
- All payments will be processed securely through Square, our trusted payment processor.
2. DOG GROOMING TERMS
Arrival and Collection:
- Please arrive at the agreed-upon time for grooming appointments. If you arrive late, we cannot guarantee your appointment will be honored, and you may be asked to reschedule.
- Collection Notification: We will advise you when your dog is almost ready for collection, so you can plan accordingly.
- Late Collection: If you are late picking up your dog, a charge may apply for late collection beyond 15 minutes. The charge will be at the discretion of Sandy Paws and will be communicated to you at the time of collection.
Additional Charges and Time Estimates:
- Grooming times are estimates and may vary depending on the dog's size, coat condition, and behavior.
- If additional time is required due to excessive matting, fleas, behavioral issues, or unforeseen circumstances, an additional fee may apply. We will inform you before proceeding.
Health and Vaccination Requirements:
- All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies, distemper, and parvovirus, to attend grooming or boarding services. We may request proof of vaccination prior to your appointment.
Behavioral Policy:
- For safety reasons, we reserve the right to refuse service to any dog exhibiting aggressive or dangerous behavior. We will notify you immediately if this is the case.
- We are not liable for any pre-existing conditions or injuries your pet may have during their stay or grooming appointment.
Matting and Fleas:
- Matting: If your dog’s coat is severely matted, additional charges may apply. In some cases, the only option may be to shave the hair short to remove the mats safely. If the matting is so severe that it cannot be safely groomed, the appointment may be refused. You will be informed of any additional charges or refusal of service before any work is performed.
- Fleas: If fleas are detected on your dog during grooming, a flea treatment will be applied at an additional cost. If the flea infestation is severe, the grooming appointment may be refused, and the dog will need to be treated before rescheduling the grooming appointment.
Emergency Medical Care:
- If your dog becomes ill or injured during grooming, we will attempt to contact you on your emergency contact.
- If we cannot reach you and immediate veterinary care is required, we will seek treatment at our discretion.
- Any veterinary costs incurred will be the responsibility of the owner.
Senior Dogs and Dogs with Medical Conditions:
- If your dog is elderly or has medical conditions (e.g., heart issues, arthritis, epilepsy), please inform us before the appointment.
- While we take extra care with senior and special-needs dogs, grooming may pose a higher risk, and we are not responsible for any health complications that may arise.
Owner Liability & Risk Acknowledgement
- Grooming involves the use of sharp tools, and while we take the utmost care, accidents (such as minor nicks or cuts) can occur, especially with matted or nervous dogs.
- We are not liable for any pre-existing skin conditions, ear infections, or underlying health issues that may become apparent during or after grooming.
Photography and Social Media:
- We may take photos of your pet during or after their groom for promotional purposes (e.g., social media or website).
- If you do not wish for your dog to be photographed, please inform us in advance.
Cancellation Due to Dogs Condition:
- If we determine that grooming cannot proceed due to the dog's health, behavior, or severe matting, the appointment will be canceled, and a charge may still apply.
3. DOG BOARDING TERMS
Meet & Greet Requirement:
Before booking any dog boarding services, you must complete an initial meet & greet with us. This is to ensure that your dog is a good fit for boarding with us and to review any special care instructions.
Booking and Payment for Dog Boarding:
- Once the meet & greet is completed, an invoice will be issued for your dog's stay.
- Payment must be made via bank transfer and must be received at least 48 hours before the scheduled drop-off date.
- If payment is not received within the required time frame, your booking may be canceled, and the spot offered to another client.
Flea & Worming Treatment:
- It is required that your dog is up-to-date with all flea and worming treatments before staying with us.
- If fleas are detected on your dog upon arrival, an additional charge may apply for fumigating the boarding facility to ensure the safety and comfort of all other pets.
- We reserve the right to refuse boarding services to any dog that does not meet the flea and worming requirements or if fleas are detected on your dog.
- Fleas Detected After Drop-Off: If fleas are detected after your dog has been dropped off, we will immediately wash the dog with a flea shampoo at an additional charge, to help prevent the spread of fleas to other pets in our care.
Vaccination Requirements:
- All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and provide proof of vaccination records before boarding
- Failure to provide proof of vaccinations may result in cancellation of the booking.
Health & Medical Emergencies:
- If your dog becomes ill or injured during their stay we will attempt to contact you or your emergency contact. If we cannot reach you we will seek veterinary care at our discretion.
- We will make every effort to take your dog to their registered veterinarian if medical attention is required. However, in an emergency we will attend the closest available veterinary practice to ensure immediate care.
- Any veterinary costs incurred will be the responsibility of the owner and must be reimbursed upon collection of your dog.
- If your dog has any pre-existing medical conditions, you must inform us prior to boarding.
Behavior & Aggression Policy:
- We reserve the right to refuse boarding for any dog displaying aggressive or unmanageable behavior.
- If a dog becomes aggressive or poses a risk to people, other dogs or itself during boarding, we may require early collection by the owner or emergency contact.
- If necessary, and for the safety of all involved, we reserve the right to use a muzzle on any dog that displays aggressive or unpredictable behavior. This will only be done when absolutely required to ensure the safety of people, other dogs and itself.
- No refunds will be given for early collection due to behavior issues.
Emergency Contact Requirement:
- You must provide an emergency contact who is available to collect your dog in case of an emergency.
- If no contact is available, we reserve the right to take necessary actions in the best interest of the dog
Emergency Relocation Policy:
- In the unlikely event that our home becomes uninhabitable due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., fire, flood, loss of heating, or other emergencies), we will take immediate action to ensure your dog’s safety and comfort.
- We will attempt to contact you or your emergency contact to arrange an alternative boarding option.
- If we cannot reach you or your emergency contact, we will relocate your dog with us to a local pre-arranged location, details of which can be provided upon request.
- We will keep you informed of the situation and your dog’s well-being throughout the process
Drop-Off and Collection Times:
- Drop-Off: Dogs can be dropped off from 1:00 PM onwards.
- Collection: All dogs must be collected by 12:30 PM on the final day of their stay.
- Half-Day Add-Ons: Half-day add-ons are available, subject to availability, at an additional charge. Please inquire in advance to ensure availability.
- Late Collection or Early Drop-Off Fees: If you require an early drop-off or late collection without prior arrangement, an additional fee will apply. Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance if you need to adjust these times.
Food and Personal Items:
- Dogs must arrive with enough of their usual food to cover the duration of their stay, plus a little extra to ensure they have enough.
- Please ensure that food is clearly labeled with your dog’s name and feeding instructions.
- You may also bring any personal items that may help make your dog’s stay more comfortable, such as bedding, toys, or medications. We are not responsible for any lost or damaged items.
Photography and Social Media:
- We may take photos of your pet during or after their groom for promotional purposes (e.g., social media or website).
- If you do not wish for your dog to be photographed, please inform us in advance.
4. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE
General Liability:
Sandy Paws takes the utmost care to ensure your pet’s safety and well-being while in our care. However, we cannot be held responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to your pet that occurs during their grooming or boarding stay, except in cases of negligence on our part. By booking with us you acknowledge and accept this risk.
Pet Insurance:
We strongly recommend that you have appropriate insurance coverage for your pet in case of an accident or illness during their stay.
5. CHANGES TO TERMS
We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and they will apply to all bookings made after the change is posted. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
